Keith Mercer is a Cultural Resource Manager and Historian with Parks Canada, based at the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. He has written widely on the social and military history of early Canada, including cultural memory and commemorations in Nova Scotia. With John Reid and Jo Anderson, he recently co-published the book Hector Maclean: The Writings of Loyalist-Era Military Settler in Nova Scotia (Gaspereau Press, 2016). Originally from Newfoundland, Keith now lives in Halifax with his wife and young daughter.
